Simply put, we invest in companies that have been around for a little while. They tend to be three to ten years old, greater than five million in revenue, with a reliable economic model. For the most part, our companies have not raised institutional capital prior to partnering with us. They are great businesses that have a need for a partner or capital or both.

SSM has three primary areas of investment experience: Software & Technology, Internet & Consumer and Healthcare. Within Software & Technology, SSM has maintained a focus on enterprise solutions and B2B digital marketing; within Internet & Consumer, SSM has experience in online retail, traditional retail, and B2C digital marketing. SSM makes healthcare investments in information technology and services and does not invest in life sciences, medical devices, or diagnostic companies.

Our capital is used for many different purposes. Most frequently, it is invested to support the operations of a business to make hires and build infrastructure for growth. Sometimes our capital is used to acquire shares from existing shareholders or help a company make an acquisition.
